Missing DVDs

Permalink 07/31/05 17:09, by Jeff, Categories: Movies

OK, some of my DVDs are missing....

...

I happened to have a few minutes of time when I noticed the stack of DVDs had been pushed around and were in a state of general disarray. Probably teenagers picking through the selection and then setting the disks aside with disregard to keeping the area neat. No, I don't keep the disks in any order, but they're generally placed nicely on the shelf beneath the A/V gear, so they're easy to access.

While I was digging through the pile, I noticed that a few of the disks I know I have are not there. I'm sure some of them have been innocently borrowed and not returned, and I fear that some of them have been less than innocently swiped (either through careless "eternal" borrowing, or even klepto theft).

Notably missing are The Matrix, Independence Day, and Star Wars Episode II. I know I own The Matrix because it was not only a gift, but the first thing Claire bought on the Internet. I know I own Independence Day because I put off the purchase until the release of the widescreen version (I have the pan-and-scan on VHS). And I know I have Episode II because it was a glaring gap in the series, and Best Buy no longer sold it, so when I saw it at the store I snapped it up.

There are others, too. If you have one of my disks, please return it... I know I'll have to buy them all again when DVDs can put out HiDef, but I still miss 'em.
