Movie Notes Suck

Permalink 07/14/05 09:53, by Jeff, Categories: Blather

In my trend of sucking at blogging, I notice that part of it is that I'm not writing anything interesting.

...

I look at the list and "review" of the movies, and few have a fair or complete synopsis much less an intelligent discussion of the presentation.

At one level, I guess, it's a nice reminder for me to know which films I've seen. NetFlix helps keep track of what they've sent me, but I've started sending movies back that I don't have time to watch, or that don't interest me as much when they arrive as they did when I queued them up. Of course, NetFlix doesn't know what I watch elsewhere.

Aside from the tally of films watched, it gives a gentle reminder of the contents, and a general feeling of whether I liked it or not.

Now, I'm an easy sell. I like almost every movie. There has to be some pain involved in watching before I dislike a film. There are aspects to consider for performances, characters, scenery, sites, cinematography, continuity, as well as story and substance. I can put up with a lot of bad acting, if the story carries some weight, or if the rest of it holds my interest.

"It sucked," comes to mind for only a handful of movies. Troll comes to mind as my least favorite movie ever, ever, ever. Ick. I don't even recommend you see it to see how bad it is, it's so bad.

I'll endeavor to improve my verse, wit, and usefulness.

I'm still trying to steal time...
