The Big Bounce (2004)

We watched this Owen Wilson film, which redeems him from the horrible film The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.

Follow up:

Owen plays Jack Ryan, a petty crook not to be confused with the Jack Ryan of the Tom Clancy books and movies. He's roped into a swindle with all of the style and grace of Get Shorty, which we discovered after was based on another novel by the same guy that wrote the one that this movie was based on.

Plot twists and counter-schemes arise and are themselves obscured with twists and schemes, but not in a bad or confusing way. Just in the everyone's trying to out-scheme everyone else way, just like Get Shorty.

A well done, and recommended, tale, Owen Wilson. You're forgiven for Zissou...mostly.
